A Day at Adventureland

On Monday, Damon took the day off work and we headed for Adventureland in Des Moines! We left Max home with the grandparents so we could all go on rides together! It was a fun day - not too hot, not too busy, although we did end up having to wait in line about 50 minutes for the Raging River and 15 for the Log Ride. Otherwise most of the rides were little to no wait. Will is kind of in this in between stage where he's too "big" for some of the kiddie rides, but not brave enough (although he is tall enough) for the roller coasters. He barely tolerated the carousel. Sam was super brave (basically because he didn't realize what he was getting himself into, but that still counts) and went on this ride, called the G-Force, with his Dad. It did this:

Did you find them in there, whirling around? Did it make you sick just watching it? Will and I decided no way were we doing it. Halfway through the ride, Sam wanted to get off, but he was in it for the long haul! Here was his reaction upon getting off of the G-Force:

He didn't really want to talk about it. And I don't blame him.

No trip to Adventureland is complete without a ride (and pictures) on the train:

Driving small motorized boats:
The boys really like the Frog Hopper. They did it 3 times in a row!

No screaming, laughing, or even much smiling and certainly no hands up in the air for my boys. They took it very seriously, but kept going back for more.
The Chuck Wagon:
Waiting in line for the Raging River:

Ski-ball is always fun. Sam likes to use his whole body. And jumping up and down really seems to help. (This is also how he plays video games.)

Ope! Almost had a little fit there. It was the end of the day. Everyone was tired. But it was a good day.
