YEAH for Will!!!! He lost his first tooth last night! It's been loose for forever, but just in the last few days he's been really wiggling it and talking through gritted teeth, because it's so loose and feels so funny. He could bend it way back with his tongue, so that it looked like it was missing, but then he'd push it forward and be all proud of himself for fooling us. (You know, pregnant people ARE easy to trick.) We knew we were going to be seeing Grandma Connie last night, (dinner at McC's) and after several attempts at home by both me and Will to pull it out, I told him he should wait and let Grandma pull it out, because she's so good at it. It's become sort of a tradition. She's pulled out several of Jack's teeth, when he wouldn't let anyone else near it. He was excited about that idea until just before we arrived, then he changed his mind. When everyone realized how loose his tooth was, (evidently grandmas and aunts are easy to trick too,) there were lots of helpful suggestions as to how to pull it out. Will seriously wanted to try the tie the string around the tooth, and slam the door. Uncle Joe suggested we tie the tooth to one of his boys' remote control cars. Will, always the dare devil, was all ready to try this. He was seriously pumped about this idea. His parents, however, were not too sure. I kept saying, "ask your dad what he thinks..." while he kept saying, "go ask your mom." What convinced me was when Laura asked Joe, "Would you seriously do that to one of your own kids?" and Joe replied, "Well, NOOO, that's why it's so great!" So we went back to the Grandma pulling idea, and she hardly had to pull at all. In the meantime, Joe got the remote control car all charged up ready to go, which Will thought was very funny. Too late!
Will's very proud, and immediately had all kinds of great ideas: drinking through a straw and putting the straw in the hole, (which is not a very big hole!), sucking up spaghetti through the hole, and sticking his tongue through the hole. This morning he is $2 richer, courtesy of the Tooth Fairy. He's evidently willing to play along with the whole charade, for the sake of some hard cold cash. (We've already had the whole talk about Santa and the Easter Bunny.) Right before bed he asked, "Is the tooth fairy really real?" and I just smiled and said, "What do you think?" and winked at him. It's fun to pretend. My little boy is growing up!

$2?!?!! I remember only getting a quarter!!! what's up with that??!!
Congrats Will!!! I loved watching the video, I felt like I was there!!! That was great!!
Inflation! Damon and I both agreed that the first tooth is special. We've made it clear this is not a precedent.
After watching this again, what cracks me up is that Noah wants to hop aboard the tooth fairy train, and get in on the action too. He wanted the tooth fairy to bring him something too!
Oh yes, that's very Noah...wiggling in on the action!
I wish you had gotten Jackson on video saying that 'by the time you're my age, the tooth fairy forgets to come.'
