Preschool Time!!

Yesterday Sam started preschool (finally!) He's been waiting FOREVER!!! There were no tears, no seperation anxiety, not even any real "goodbye" - he was so excited and ready to go, he just jumped right in!! Everyone got to bring their favorite stuffed animal or doll to school on the first day, to make it a little easier on everyone. This ended up being a little more of a distraction than anything else, because Sam sat next to his good buddy Caleb, and they kept messing with each other. I'm sure the teachers will figure out very quickly to keep those two separated if they want their full attention! When his teacher introduced Mrs. Berends, Sam said, "No, that's grandma!" So his teacher said, "Raise your hand if this is your grandma..." And more than one kid raised their hand! Sam hesitantly raised his hand as well! Sometimes when we talk about preschool he says "Mrs. Grandma" is his art teacher. So if that catches on, she may have to start answering to a new name! This morning is not a preschool morning, but sending Will off to school was hard because Sam wanted to go to his school too. It's going to be hard to only get to go twice a week. At the dinner table last night all kinds of information came out about the color of the day: red. And although he couldn't remember the words to the 'red song,' I sure could, and once I started singing it, he joined in all excited saying, 'that's it mom!' He also told me about the days of the week song, and the rules: "Keep your hands to yourself," and "no taking your shoes off." So evidently he's learning stuff already! He loves to sing (notice he gives himself a pat on the back at the end?! Cuteness.):

Mrs. Grandma! I love it

I'm sure he will have such a great time. Too bad it's only twice a week, thats forever to a kid.

Hannah started pre school today :) Time goes way too fast!

I pray things are better for you with Max and you are getting the rest you need.

Hey, where am I in the photos????

Sam was definitely voted most enthusiastic newcomer! He's gonna eat up this stuff like crazy. I am humbled at the prospect of playing a small role in it.

Fire trucks are red.
Stop signs are red, too.
