Umbrella Obsession

Will has been doing a great job walking to and from school by himself this year. It is a great help to me that he is able to do this, because I just stand on the back porch in my pj's and watch him walk almost the whole way to the school yard, without ever having to load up the other kids! He is able to cut through our neighbors' backyards and he's there! We bought him his own umbrella to keep in his backpack for rainy days, with the strict instructions for its use and misuse. We did not want it to be a distraction. On the first day he had it with him he came walking home (on a nice sunshiny day) with his umbrella out (to keep cool in the shade.)
